The Loneliest
The loneliest road you'll ever walk
Passes through the places where people talk
Runs by those who never understood
Into the dark and haunted wood.
The loneliest path you'll ever take
Is in being good for goodness sake
In taking a stand or making a change
But always being just out of range.
The loneliest hike you'll ever climb,
Is making the best use of your time
In refusing to waste these hours few
And people just don't understand you.
The loneliest choice you'll ever choose
Is to never give up even when you lose
To do hard things in place of comfort
To do what's right not matter the effort.
The loneliest journey you'll ever have
Is on the straight and narrow path
The company is sparse but oh how you'll see
It's the only journey that will set you free.
