Satisfy

There are a thousand things that I could try,
But only You can satisfy.
There's an insatiable thirst inside my soul,
And only You can make me whole.
You've proved Yourself,
I know it's true,
Still I seek life,
Somewhere other than You.
I seek the acceptance,
And love of men,
And come up empty,
Again and again.
I follow my dreams,
I reach for the stars,
Yet end up empty,
And covered with scars.
I'm finished O Lord,
With living for me,
With seeking delight,
From things I can see.
Fill me O God with a passion for You,
Capture my heart as only You can do,
Feed me O Lord with Your holy Word,
Care for me God as You do each bird.
The luster of love and things in this place,
Grow dimmer and dimmer as I seek Your face.
